This is a silly way to waste valuable game resources. The dev team needs to remove those holster straps from the detectives if they are not going to carry any hand guns or holsters on them. All they need to look like detectives is that shield on their belts. So why do they have holster straps when they don't have holsters and hand guns on them? They still can look like detectives with out these.
They were wearing shoulder straps for holsters, and yet none of them are carrying a pistol or have holsters to carry a pistol on them. I had noticed something about the detectives that I had over looked before.
When I was watching the detective trailer, and looking at it's screenshots today.
